SAFETY/SECURITY POLICY

Purpose:
This policy provides guidelines for providing and maintaining a SAFE environment for students and Butler employees.

Background:
Butler is concerned about the SAFETY of every student and Butler employee. The area of SAFETY demands improvement because :
injuries often bring about human suffering to students, school employees and their families and
the direct cost of insurance premiums and indirect costs of disrupted work schedules and damaged equipment.

Policy:
It is the policy of Butler Community College to provide and maintain SAFE working conditions and to follow operating practices that will safeguard all students and employees and result in safe efficient operations. The Butler Safety/Security committee shall establish specific guidelines and programs that will greatly enhance Butler's abilities to meet safety needs of all students and employees.
